Wrinkle Filler Injectable

What’s Behind the Drug When it Comes to Facial Filler Injection

You may have heard the ladies talking at church or over the weekend potluck talking about their latest Juvederm or Restylane injection, or perhaps, a member of their family or they themselves have decided to go back to school for Juvederm training or Restylane training  at a laser school. Working for a Medi-spa and facial plastic surgery are hot careers to be in.  Women and men are paying for plastic surgery and facial filler injections in droves and the numbers are increasing every year.

People are also finding that they can make a great living going to laser schools, as well as get a great deal on facial plastic surgery going to a laser school where students are learning to give facial filler injections. Once you decide to get a facial injection you will need to decide where to go and what drug is right for you, namely natural or synthetic.

Whether you choose natural or synthetic, one thing you will learn is that there are hundreds of options. What are the treatments like and what exactly are the drugs made of? Most treatments are a liquid solution that is injected into a layer of skin to either to plump up, tighten or fill in fine lines and wrinkles. Below offers a better understanding of some of the more common drugs on the market.

The Botulinum Toxin, Also Known As Botox Or Dysport
Botulinum is a venom-like solution that is injected into the skin that reacts with facial muscles to block the nerve impulses to the facial muscles responsible for contraction. This means, when the toxin is injected into the skin, the muscles will automatically relax and smooth out, namely forehead lines and crows feet. Treatment is less than an hour and results are seen in about 2 weeks, lasting up to 4 months.

Collagen Treatment, Also Known as Zyderm and Zyplast
Collagen is an animal product. Collagen is derived from the hides of cows or pigs that have particularly bred for human-injection purposes. Because collagen is an animal product, a collagen allergy test will be given prior to injection. Often times the treatment is injected under the skin to fill lines and wrinkles but especially known for lip enhancement.

Non- Animal Hyaluronic acid gel (NASHA), Known as Restylane or Juvederm
What’s unique about Restylane Hyaluronic acid is that it is formulated from a substance that exists naturally in the human body currently. Its function is to carry and bind water- a naturally firming substance that gives skin its supple look. The stabilized hyaluronic acid solution doesn’t contain any animal protein and a skin test isn’t necessary to test for a possible allergic reaction.  Its popular uses are for reducing facial wrinkles, filling in sunken facial areas and creating fuller lips. What many people like about Restylane or Juvederm is that it lasts up to 4 months.

Of course no matter which drug you choose to go with to enhance your already natural features, it might be wise to look into the side-effects first. Costs of course are a natural factor, but think about it; you are dealing with actions that have consequences that are dealing with your face! Before you go under the needle, make sure you are seeing reputable establishment that is licensed and has plenty of experience with facial filler injections. Who knows, it could be a treatment that improves your looks, your self esteem and confidence! For some, it’s a monthly routine, for others, it’s a bi-yearly process and then, for some, it’s a one time experience.
